Frequently asked questions
What makes this programme unique?
- This weight loss regime is unique because it is based on YOUR blood test results. Your weight loss regime, like you, is unique and therefore will work best for you.
- You do not get a copy of a re-used weight loss regime. Rather, you get a brand new regime specifically tailored to meet your needs.
Why should I be on this programme rather than going to a dietician?
- You are most welcome to go to a registered dietician. However, the advantage that our programme has is that it is based on many years of research as well as a data bank of many thousands of weight loss regimes and the results achieved by those who have done them. This knowledge is used to hone and tailor YOUR personalised weight loss regime. The Fat Loss Laboratory is also unique in that it is a specialist not only in the field of nutrition but also in fertility and hormones.
What do your services include?
- We analyse your blood tests and, based on your blood profile, prepare a weight loss regime for you that will help your body rid itself of excess fat, without making you weak or hungry. This is achieved by using foods readily available in your kitchen or in any grocery store or supermarket. There are no additional costs for special or expensive food supplements or pills. Furthermore, throughout the regime we will support you with any issue or concern you raise. At a later stage in the regime we may also advise you to take an additional blood test and amend your weight loss regime, if needed, at no extra cost to you. When you are close to your goal weight we will prepare an individual weight management regime for you, also at no additional cost. This weight management regime will take you off the weight loss regime gradually and will ensure that the weight you have lost stays off.
Is the regime kilojoules based?
- No. Food types, quantities and combinations are what are important.
Is this a high protein regime?
- No. The treatment draws food from all of the food groups and is a balanced eating plan.
How would you know if the medications I am taking or a medical condition I may have is not influencing my diet programme?
- The form you fill out when you join our programme has a section for medications that you take regularly as well as any other special medical conditions you may have. Please note that our programme is not suitable for pregnant women and women who are breast - feeding (if breast milk is the child's only source of nutrition), children under the age of 15 years, people over the age of 70, insulin-dependent diabetics, and people who suffer from any heart conditions. We also recommend that you consult your physician before you start any diet - ours or any others.
Why are blood tests necessary?
- The blood tests allow us to undertake an analysis of certain aspects of your system, which in turn indicates what is required to get your body's hormones back into balance. This approach therefore designs a treatment (regime) unique to your requirements - one that will "trigger" your HGH profile and result in weight-loss and other health benefits.
There are so many "diets" and programmes available today... why should this be the one I choose?
- In most cases the customers who come to us have already tried everything else! You are free to choose, but the many thousands of successful customers we have had over the past 16 years, is proof that this is not another "diet fad". The Fat Loss Laboratory's programme is based on internationally accepted medical research. There are no artificial elements in our programme. Everything is based on your body, its current profile and the use of basic food to become healthy... your food becomes your medicine! A simple, inexpensive solution to a complex problem.
Can I give my programme to my family or friends to follow?
- Your unique weight loss regime will not "trigger" another person's body into correcting its imbalance... it may even cause greater imbalance and illness! Also, in some cases of "copying" we have come across people who have initially lost weight, but gained it very rapidly when going off the regime because the treatment was not meant for them and as a result their HGH has not been "triggered".
How long will I have to be on the regime?
- The duration of the regime depends on a number of factors including - but not limited to - your blood profile, your age, your gender, and the amount of weight you have to lose. The average time spent on the programme is between 2 and 4 months with an average weight loss of 7-10kgs per month. There are frequent cases of customers losing weight much faster than this - particularly men and people who are very overweight.
Will I be able to live normally again (without constant dieting for the rest of my life)?
- The final stage of our programme is called the Weight Management Regime. This stage takes place at the end of your programme when your body has achieved "balance" and you have lost the fat/weight. This 2-4 week Weight Management Regime reintroduces the so-called "bad-foods" back into your diet without "shocking" the body. You will also be given healthy lifestyle guidelines that will prevent you from starting the cycle of the "obesity syndrome" again.
Will I feel constantly hungry on the Weight Loss Regime?
- The first 2-3 days on the Weight Loss Regime may be the most difficult and challenging. It is normal to experience hunger pangs and cravings, but these should subside after about 3-4 days, once the Human Growth Hormone is triggered.
What about headaches and nausea?
- You may also experience these, even diarrhoea. It's perfectly normal as your body is going through the process of detoxification. These should clear up after 3-4 days. In severe cases, you may take painkillers to alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Will I experience any constipation?
- If you follow the Weight Loss Regime, you will eat a balanced, nutritional diet with ample fibre from fruit and vegetables, supplemented by at least 2 liters of water a day. In the unlikely event that you become constipated, you can take herbal laxatives such as Senokot, Black Forest Tea or Adulax. Avoid laxatives that contain fruit or vegetable extracts.
- Bowel movement twice a week is sufficient on the Weight Loss Regime due to the fact that your intake (particularly of starch) has been dramatically reduced. So do not immediately assume that a change in bowel movement indicates constipation.
- If you are still worried about constipation, you can take 2 teaspoons of Digestive Bran for the first 3 days and on the 4th day switch to Senokot.
Can I donate blood while on the Weight Loss Regime?
- No. If you do so you will experience a rapid drop in blood pressure. It is best to wait until after you have completed the entire regime, including the weight management regime, to become a donor again.
What will happen to me if I suffer from high blood pressure?
- You will be fine. Your blood pressure normalises very quickly on the Weight Loss Regime. You may notice that after a couple of weeks you begin to feel tired and light-headed. This is completely normal. It is a sign that your blood pressure has normalised due to the effectiveness of our programme.
- lf you are taking medication for your condition while on the Weight Loss Regime, please be aware that this will lower your blood pressure even more, causing low blood pressure symptoms. It is advised that you see your doctor at this point to re-assess and reduce or even to discontinue your high blood pressure medication.
What about low blood pressure?
- In most cases you can expect your blood pressure to normalise on our programme.
- Some types of low blood pressure may persist, however. If you notice that after the first week on the Weight Loss Regime you continue to experience constant fatigue and light-headedness, please call your agent or consultant or your doctor for advice.
If I get sick while on the Weight Loss Regime, what medication can I take?
• Make sure that you do not take any medication that contains caffeine, sugar or alcohol. Look for sugar- and alcohol-free varieties of cough mixtures and throat lozenges, Also avoid flavoured fizzy preparations or homeopathic remedies in liquid form, as these often have a high alcohol content.
Can I exercise while on the Weight Loss Regime?
- If you do not have a regular exercise routine, it is not advisable to start exercising while you are on the Weight Loss Regime. It will only trigger hunger and low energy levels.
- If you do exercise already for general health, fitness and stress relief, you can continue with your regular routine. Your body should be able to cope, and you may in fact experience increased energy levels.
- If you do experience hunger or low energy levels while exercising, you are probably doing more exercise than your body can cope with while you are on the Weight Loss Regime, and you should lower the intensity of your workouts.
Are there any other side effects I can expect?
- Significant FAT LOSS!
- Remember, it is vital to follow the Weight Loss Regime accurately and precisely so that you see dramatic results.
- It will require some will power initially, but as the weeks go by and you notice your progress, you will see how simple and motivating it is to stick to the Weight Loss Regime. It will be worth it!
